how furrowed handles your data

furrowed is a farm log. we keep your records for you. this page says, plainly, what data we collect, who it goes to, and what you can ask us to do with it.
tl;dr
- your photos, voice clips, and notes belong to you. we use them to give you a farm log, nothing else.
- we send your voice to deepgram to turn into text, and your text and photos to anthropic (claude) to turn into structured entries. we do not train any ai on your data.
- everything you save lives in our database at supabase.
- you can export everything, or delete everything, any time. one email gets it done.
- we don't sell your data. we don't show ads. we don't share it for marketing.
who runs furrowed
furrowed is operated by the team behind the furrowed app (the "service", "we", "us"). you can reach us at hello@furrowed.app.
what we collect
account information
when you sign up, we store the email address you give us and a randomly generated user id. if you signed in with a third-party identity provider (apple, google), we also store the identifier that provider gives us so we can recognize you next time.
your farm entries
everything you log: typed notes, voice clips, photos of receipts and plants and fields, the crop tags you apply, amounts, dates, and any free-form text you add. this is your farm record. we store it so we can give it back to you.
device and usage data
we record minimal technical data so we can keep the service running: app version, operating system, and timestamps for when requests hit our servers. we use google analytics on this website to understand which pages people visit; that includes anonymized ip addresses, page paths, and broad geographic region. you can block this in your browser at any time.
what we don't collect
- your precise location. furrowed does not request location permission.
- your contacts.
- data from other apps on your phone.
who we share your data with
we use a small set of third-party services to make furrowed work. each one only gets the data it needs to do its job.

anthropic and deepgram both contractually do not train their models on data sent through their api. we have not opted into any data-sharing or model-training program with either.
we will only disclose your data outside this list if a law enforcement request legally compels us, or to protect against fraud or harm.
how we use your data
- to give you a farm log: reading your photos, transcribing your voice, structuring your entries, storing them, showing them back to you.
- to keep the service running: debugging, monitoring uptime, fixing bugs.
- to talk to you: writing to the email you gave us, only when there's something to say (a launch, a change to this policy, an account issue).
we never use your farm entries to train an ai model. not ours, not anyone's. your photos and voice clips are processed when you capture them and then they sit in your account, untouched until you open them.
how long we keep it
- farm entries: as long as your account exists.
- account info: until you ask us to delete it.
- voice audio sent to deepgram: deepgram does not retain it.
- photos and text sent to anthropic: anthropic stores api inputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes them.
- web analytics: google analytics retains data for 14 months by default.
your rights
no matter where you live, you can ask us to:
- see everything we have about you
- export it in a machine-readable form
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your account and everything in it (see deleting your account)
write to hello@furrowed.app from the email on your account and we'll do it within 30 days.
if you live in california
california's privacy law (ccpa / cpra) gives you the rights above by name: the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. furrowed does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; the only sharing is the operational list above.
if you live in the european economic area or the uk
we process your data on two legal bases under gdpr:
- contract: we need to process your entries to give you the service you signed up for.
- legitimate interest: for keeping the service secure, debugging, and minimal analytics.
you have the right to object, restrict, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
children
furrowed is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in parts of europe). we do not knowingly collect data from anyone in that age range. if you believe a child has signed up, write to us and we'll remove the account.
security
we use industry-standard practices: tls in transit, encryption at rest, scoped access controls. no system is perfectly secure; if we ever discover a breach involving your data, we'll write to you and to any required authorities within the timelines our laws require.
where your data lives
your account and entries are stored on supabase infrastructure. api calls to anthropic and deepgram are routed to their u.s. data centers. if you are in the european economic area or the uk, your data may be transferred to these regions; standard contractual clauses cover those transfers where required.
changes to this policy
when we change anything material, we'll update the date at the top and write to you if you have an account. older versions are available on request.
